Personalised laser vision correction with ZEISS MEL 90
LASIK & Femto-LASIK at Perfect Vision Laser Eye Hospital, Jaipur
Reducing dependence on spectacles and contact lenses begins with understanding your eyes. At Perfect Vision Laser Eye Hospital – Dr. Virendra Laser Phaco Surgery Centre, Jaipur, LASIK treatment is planned around your prescription, corneal measurements and everyday visual needs.
What is LASIK?
LASIK stands for Laser-Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis. It reshapes the cornea—the transparent front surface of the eye—to help light focus more accurately on the retina.
The surgeon creates a thin corneal flap, lifts it and uses an excimer laser to reshape the underlying tissue. The flap is then repositioned.
LASIK can correct suitable prescriptions involving:
Myopia
Minus power affecting distance vision.
Hyperopia
Plus power affecting near and sometimes distance vision.
Astigmatism
Cylindrical power causing blurred or distorted vision.
Conventional LASIK and Femto-LASIK
The main difference is how the corneal flap is created.
Conventional LASIK
A precision instrument called a microkeratome creates the flap using a blade. An excimer laser then performs the vision correction.
Femto-LASIK
A femtosecond laser creates the flap, followed by an excimer laser for corneal reshaping. This is often called all-laser or bladeless LASIK. Perfect Vision Laser Eye Hospital uses the ZEISS VisuMax Femtosecond Laser to deliver smooth, accurate flap creation and enhanced visual outcomes—making the procedure safer and more predictable than blade-based LASIK.
Femto-LASIK remains a flap-based procedure. “Bladeless” describes flap creation; it does not mean the operation is flap-free.
ZEISS MEL 90 technology
Perfect Vision Laser Eye Hospital’s LASIK service uses the ZEISS MEL 90 excimer laser for corneal reshaping.
The excimer laser performs the refractive correction according to the treatment plan. It is separate from the femtosecond laser used to create the flap during Femto-LASIK.
Detailed assessment and surgeon-led planning remain essential to achieving an appropriate correction.

Who may be suitable?
LASIK may be considered for adults who have:
- A stable prescription, usually for at least one year.
- Suitable corneal thickness and shape.
- Healthy tear film and ocular surface.
- A prescription within the appropriate treatment range.
- Realistic expectations about recovery and outcomes.
Keratoconus, suspicious corneal measurements, significant untreated dry eye, active infection or unstable power may make treatment unsuitable. Pregnancy, breastfeeding or medical conditions affecting healing may require postponement.
How does treatment work?
Assessment
Prescription testing and detailed eye measurements establish suitability.
Preparation
Anaesthetic drops numb the eye.
Flap creation
The flap is created using the planned technique.
Laser correction
The excimer laser reshapes the underlying tissue.
Flap repositioning
The surgeon returns the flap to position; stitches are usually unnecessary.
Aftercare
Prescribed drops and follow-up visits support recovery.
Benefits and recovery
LASIK can reduce dependence on glasses and contact lenses, with generally quick functional visual recovery. However, vision may fluctuate during healing.
Use prescribed drops, avoid rubbing your eyes and follow advice about driving, exercise, makeup and swimming. Increasing pain or worsening vision requires prompt assessment.

“23 years back , I got my eyes operated for Lasik laser surgery. Being among the few ones who were being operated for the eyes and at that time, this being a new technique for removal of specs, It was a wonderful experience with Dr Virendra Agarwal operating .I ,being the first one to be operated that day, all other patients were quite relaxed after listening from me that how easily the operation was done successfully by Dr sb and now, I stand here 23 yrs later with perfect eyes and vision. Thanks Dr Virendra Agarwal for being such a wonderful Dr and caring for the lifeline of everyone i.e. Our Eyes.”
“My experience at the Virendra Agrawal Eye hospital has been good . Got my lasik surgery 7 years back , eyes has perfect as of now. DR Agarwal and his working staff is polite . They are equipped with all the necessary machinery in the field of ophthalmology and I highly recommend Mr Agarwal's clinic. Couple of things which would even improve their service - 1.A water cooler with disposable glasses 2.Written note on the reception about the discount to the government employees for consultation fees. " Clinic is taking all the precautionary measures in the prevention of COVID19 "”

A special mention to Komal and Saliq bhaiya for being so helpful and patient. Thank you to the entire team for such great care.”
